Enhance Patient Safety With Masimo CO2 Monitor

-

Masimo CO2 Monitor is a noninvasive, wireless, Bluetooth(r)-enabled wearable monitor that enables continuous, tetherless monitoring. It works with the Root patient monitoring and connectivity platform to display real-time, continuous carbon dioxide respiration rate measurements and waveforms on a single screen.

Masimo CO2 Monitor is a reliable and convenient way to enhance patient safety in your emergency department, air ambulance, or transport flight. It’s easy to set up, simple to learn, and cost-effective to operate.

Early Warning Scoring System (EWSS)

The Early Warning Scoring System (EWSS) is a tool that nurses and physicians can use to recognize deterioration in patients in the hospital. It identifies subtle changes in physiologic measurements that may precede clinical deterioration.

EWSs are based on the principle that clinical deterioration is often preceded by abnormalities in a variety of physiological measures, such as heart rate, oxygen saturation, respiratory rate, and blood pressure. The scores calculate a weighted aggregate score that prompts healthcare providers to intensify patient care and activate Rapid Response Teams or PARTs when necessary.

However, the manual process of EWS calculation has several drawbacks, such as a lack of efficiency because multiple patients are in a ward and some physiological variables take time to measure. Furthermore, it is difficult to ensure that staff is taking adequate physiological measurements, especially in busy wards.

Easy to Set Up

The Masimo CO2 Monitor is easy to set up and use. It has a quick-release pin that easily secures to any certified med-mount base inside the cabin.

Masimo’s SET Measure-through Motion and Low Perfusion(tm) pulse oximetry have been shown in multiple studies to significantly reduce false alarms and accurately monitor for true alarms. This is especially beneficial for patients who cannot be monitored through arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis.

Using a Masimo SET Radical pulse oximeter, a study performed at Tokyo Women’s Medical College in Japan demonstrated that oxygenation was consistently monitored during 10 cardiac surgical cases with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB). The correlation coefficient was over 99% for ABG and Masimo SET Radical measurements.

Easy to Learn

The Masimo SET(r) Measure-through Motion and Low Perfusion(tm) pulse oximetry technology, introduced in 1995, has been proven to outperform other pulse oximetry technologies in over 100 independent and objective studies.

In addition to Masimo SET(r) pulse oximetry, Masimo offers rainbow Pulse CO-Oximetry(tm), allowing noninvasive and continuous monitoring of blood constituents that previously required invasive procedures; total hemoglobin (SpHb), oxygen content (SpOC), carboxyhemoglobin (SpCO), methemoglobin (SpMet), Pleth Variability Index (PVi), RPVi(tm) (rainbow PVi), and Oxygen Reserve Index (ORi).

Masimo offers a comprehensive portfolio of capnography and gas monitoring solutions, both sidestream and mainstream, that meet the challenges of ventilation and gas monitoring across virtually all care areas. Solutions range from external “plug in and measure” gas analyzers, to bedside and handheld devices, to flexible integrated OEM offerings.

Reliable

The Masimo CO2 Monitor is a reliable solution for EMS teams. It is designed with a simple, easy-to-use interface and requires minimal warm-up time.

In addition, it can measure additional advanced measurements like total hemoglobin (SpHb(r)), dyshemoglobins, and etCO2 to help clinicians identify signs of respiratory distress.

Masimo is a leader in patient diagnostics and patient monitoring technology, and its sensors are known for being high quality. Masimo also offers a variety of capnography cannulas and sampling lines to make the process easier and more accurate.

Cost-Effective

Masimo offers a variety of cost-effective monitoring solutions that help improve patient outcomes. These include industry-leading pulse oximetry and CO-Oximetry technologies, sidestream capnography options, and both bedside and handheld devices.

Masimo also provides a complete portfolio of sidestream gas analyzers that meet the ventilation and gas monitoring needs in virtually all care areas – from pre-hospital and in-hospital to transport, long-term care, ambulatory care, physician and dental offices, and home care. These range from external “plug-in and measure” gas analyzers to flexible, integrated OEM offerings.

Masimo’s NomoLine(tm) sidestream capnography and gas monitoring offers integrated ventilation monitoring with a wide variety of sampling lines for both intubated and non-intubated adult, pediatric, infant, and neonatal patients. NomoLine technology incorporates a unique, patented polymer that allows water to evaporate into the surrounding air while leaving oxygen, carbon dioxide, and anesthetic gases unaffected.
